There have been various approaches to the supply chain such as lean, agile, robustness, sustainability, resilient, and green that each one focuses on supply chain from specific aspect. One of the new approaches to the supply chain is an integration of Lean, Agile, Resilient, and Green (LARG) that benefiting from the advantages of different approaches and avoiding their disadvantages. The present study proposes a model to design and evaluate LARG-based supply chain in Iran automotive industry using the concept of Axiomatic Design (AD) in a Hesitant Fuzzy (HF) environment. The study process consisted of two stages: designing stage and evaluating stage. In the first stage, the Functional Requirements (FR) and chain Design Parameters (DP) identified in the LARG supply chain based on the Delphi technique and literature review. Based on independence axiom, it should be considered that whether the satisfaction of one FR by the related DPs affects the quality of the other FR or not, which is examined based on the design matrix. In the second stage an integration of information axiom, the Best-Worst Method (BWM), and hesitant fuzzy logic was used to evaluate four supply chains in Iran automotive industry. The weight of supply chain criteria, the utility rate of desired supply chain criteria, and the current status for each supply chain criteria identified in this stage. The results indicated that the excellent LARG supply chain was consisted of 13 indicators. The model also revealed that the excellent supply chain was contained less information axiom and complexity.

In capital markets, corporate governance mechanisms are used as valuation criteria in dynamic markets to assess corporate value. The mechanisms concentrating on ownership structures, regulatory processes, and auditing try to improve corporate performance and to create value for stakeholders. The present research studied the effect of institutional ownership as ownership structure mechanism under price-to-earnings ratio on the performance and efficiency of companies listed in Tehran Stock Exchange in 92 sample companies over an 8-year period within 2006-2013. Analysis of research hypotheses show that there is no significant difference between abnormal return of companies with small and large institutional ownership, and low-, intermediate-, and high price-to-earnings ratios. Evaluation of research models over three regression models indicates that institutional ownership for companies with low price-to-earnings ratio has no effect on performance through assessed normal return, abnormal return, and net profit. Further, assessing three other regression models demonstrates that institutional ownership in companies with high price-to-earnings ratio also showed no effect on performance through normal return, abnormal return, and assessed net profit.

Generally two types of banking system exist in Bangladesh: conventional banking system and Islamic banking system. The conventional banking system consists of interest based banking system. On the other hand Islamic banking system is free of interest. As a result their profitability also differs. The purpose of this study is to compare the profitability of conventional banking system with that of Islamic banking system. Total 270 bank-years are considered as sample from the 30 listed banks of DSE of which 23 are conventional and 7 are Islamic banks during the period of 2010 to 2018 (3rd quarter for 2018). The result of this study is that conventional banks are more profitable than Islamic banks. Conventional banks’ Return on Assets (ROA) and Profit Expense Ratio (PER) is significantly higher than those of Islamic banks but there is no significant difference in Return on Equity (ROE). Moreover it is also found that for conventional banks Total Equity to Total Assets (TETA) and Deposit to Total Assets (DTA) significantly affect ROA but for Islamic banks only Total Equity to Total Assets (TETA) affects ROA significantly. For conventional banks Deposit to Total Assets (DTA) affects ROE significantly and for Islamic banks Total Equity to Total Assets (TETA) and Debt Equity Ratio (DER) affects ROE significantly. This result may help these two sectors to know their position so that they can improve their present conditions. Besides, the regulatory authority will find it easier to incorporate new rules and regulations for those banking system. Further research can be done using the data of other countries where Islamic banking system exists.

In an aim to assess financial reporting quality and its determining factors, this empirical research examined a randomly selected sample from food and allied sector of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Bangladesh. As a rapidly growing industry of Bangladesh, the food and allied sector of DSE grabs a significant portion of market capitalization and attentions from security analysts. To make valuable decisions in relevant domains, the financial reporting quality of this sector matters for policymakers, investors and regulators and for corporate managers also. In this research, the financial reporting quality (FRQ) has been measured using the popular model developed by Dechow, Sloan and Sweeney, also known as Modified Jones Model (1995). A documentary analysis of the available audited financial statements and annual reports of randomly selected sample companies for six consecutive years (2015 to 2020) has been used as the primary data sources. Popular statistical tools like correlation studies, regression analyses etc. have been applied to find the statistical significance of the explanatory variables of this research. Fourteen factors have been examined for their effects on the quality of financial reports using a classical linear regression model. This research finds firm size, firm age, foreign ownership and leverage positively significantly determine financial reporting quality while the growth and board independence negatively significantly influential. The findings recommend managers to emphasize their attention on the significant factors to improve their financial reporting quality. Security analysts shall evaluate firms’ value based on the factors found significant in determining the quality of financial reports.

This study instigates the increasing demand of defense expenditure and also to study the growth performance of India’s with special focus on the efficacy of defense expenditure on economic growth. This study adopts an Autoregressive Distributed Lag and Toda-Yamamoto granger non-causality model during the period 1961 to 2017. Overall, the results suggest that India is affected both internally and externally issues and also verifies that defense expenditure and economic growth are positively and significantly affect to each other in both period short run and long run. It advocates that increment in defense expenditure by 1% in current period will help to boost economic growth by 1.15 per cent in the long run. For to the directional relationship the Toda-Yamamoto Granger causality outcomes suggest that causality running form DE to GDP which means shows the unidirectional relationship. Accordingly, this designates that defense sector has a crucial efficacy in the development of Indian economies.

The study employed multiple regression analysis model specified based on hypothesized functional relationship between telecommunication infrastructure development and economic growth of Nigeria during post deregulation period. The model for the study was estimated using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) technique, and further evaluation was executed using chi-square to investigate the views of respondents on whether GSM has increased market access and reducing distribution cost in carrying out daily economic activities in Nigeria. The outcomes showed that telecommunication has influenced the country’s economy by increasing market access and reducing distribution cost. Therefore, to enhance economic growth in Nigeria, government should issue more licenses to GSM operators in order to allow for healthy competition among the GSM operators. On the other hand, operators should consider the strategy of co-location and infrastructure sharing for further improvement and reduction in cost of running telecommunication business in Nigeria.

Management information systems (MIS) considerably changed business processes. According to this, Electronic customer relationship management (ECRM) emerged in conjunction with evolution of traditional customer relationship management in e-business contexts. In an analogy, Electronic customer relationship management is similar to a double-edged sword i.e. it provides some opportunities for the system performers, on one side; and challenges the firms, on the other side. In this paper we are seeking for marketing opportunities such as better communication and interactions with customers as well as created choices regarding any customer data storage that ECRM offered as a potential source to benefit from firms’ competitive advantages. On the other hand, it studies the challenges including on-line channel management as well as integrating data and issues related to information technology architecture firms encounter in implementing ECRM.

This study is conducted to detect earnings manipulation practices in selected textile companies of Bangladesh. It investigates whether the textile companies of Bangladesh are engaged in earnings manipulation of not. For testing this hypothesis, Beneish M-Score is being used collecting data of 13 textile companies from financial year 2012-2018. This study indicates a great number of earnings manipulation practices conducted in textile industries. This paper, based on Beneish M-Score, finds evidences regarding manipulation of earnings through disproportionate rise in receivables, cost deferral, less cash behind reported income, etc. by listed companies. This paper finds that the textile companies are manipulating earnings. While this model can be easily used to detect earnings manipulations using annual reports provided by listed companies, further investigations are needed to identify the reasons behind distortions in reported numbers are actually earnings manipulation or any other organizational origin. Being a cost effective tool in detecting frauds through manipulating earnings, this model can be a great tool for auditors and other respective regulatory authorities.

The multivariate regression analysis technique is used because the dependent variable is influenced by the more than one independent variable. The final results reveal that capital structure decision is positively associated with the board of director size and non-executive director’s percentage while it is negatively related with the percentage managerial shareholding.
