Oranges are favored by consumers, especially during pandemic covid-19, because they contain high vitamin C. Gadingkulon Village, located in Dau District, Indonesia, is one of the largest oranges producing villages. Mainstay plantation commodities of the village are tangerines and siamese. Agricultural commodities generally fluctuate in price and production. The study’s purpose was to evaluate feasibility of farming tangerines and siamese. Data were collected from 87 farmers who grow both types of oranges. Farmers were selected by simple random sampling, where the number is determined using slovin formula. The data were analyzed using investment criteria of revenue cost ratio, benefit cost ratio, break event point for price and production, payback period, net present value and internal rate of return. The results show that tangerine and siamese farming were feasible to develop because investment criteria number exceeds some criteria. Payback period is less than five years, price and production break event point were lower than that received by farmers, net present value is relatively large and positive, rate of return on capital is higher than social opportunity cost of capital. Oranges farming was feasible yet, even though prices have fallen by 10% and production by 30%. Siamese were more profitable than tangerines.

The study sought to explore the effect of Social Capital (SC) on banks’ financial performance and whether this effect is mediated by competitive advantage (CA) or not. Secondary data were collected from banks’ nine years’ annual reports (2014-2022). By stratified sampling method, 20 commercial banks in Bangladesh were selected. Findings revealed that the influence of SC on ROA and NIAT is significant and CA mediates between them. For one unit increase in SC, ROA and NIAT will increase by 0.274 and 0.508 units respectively. However, there is no significant effect of SC on ROI. SC has a significant impact on CA also. One unit increase in SC results in a 0.822 unit increase in CA and vice versa. The findings of the study will have implications for policymakers like Bangladesh Bank, government, bankers, depositors, borrowers, and other stakeholders as enrichment of social capital is likely to improve banks’ financial performance through the attainment of CA.

Organizations are facing increasing pressure to consider the environmental impact of their industrial operations, particularly in high-polluting industries. Supply chain management is now being utilized more frequently to address the environmental pollution challenges that arise due to industrial development. Despite the implementation of environmental management policies, sugar companies in Western Kenya are still encountering disputes with local communities due to pollution caused by their production processes. Experts suggest that the incorporation of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) strategies may be effective in reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing processes. However, the effectiveness of these strategies had not been examined through empirical research. As a result, this study aimed to investigate the impact of GSCM practices on the environmental performance of Western Kenya's sugar manufacturing firms. A survey was conducted using an explanatory design, with 127 respondents drawn from various departments within the organizations. The reliability of the survey instruments was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The findings revealed that R2 for GSCM practices was 0.684 (p=0.00) and statistically significant, indicating that GSCM practices account for 68.4% of the variance in environmental performance. The study concluded that manufacturing companies should adopt GSCM as a critical strategy for sustainable initiatives, which can contribute to a company's competitive advantage and overall profitability.

Livestock businesses have various risks of death that can occur due to accidents, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks. To anticipate the risks that occur, the government seeks to help farmers through agricultural insurance, including the cattle and buffalo business insurance program (AUTSK= Asuransi Usaha ternak Sapi/Kerbau). This study aims to analyze the implementation of the AUTSK program and the factors that affect the income of dairy farmers. The research was conducted in Ngajum District, Malang Regency with the consideration that this area is a center for dairy cows. Data were collected from 40 dairy farmers obtained by simple random sampling. Furthermore, the data was edited and compiled, and then analyzed using the multiple linear analysis method (which was transformed from Cobb Douglas function). The results showed that implementation of the AUTSK program in Malang Regency tended to be less attractive to farmers because the fulfillment of claims was not timely (the period of disbursement of funds was too long). Farmer education, livestock ownership and the cost of concentrate feed have a significant effect on the income of dairy farmers. Government needs to re-evaluate implementation of livestock insurance so that farmers can continue their business. Limitation of this study is difficulty of separating cost of production facilities for each cow, so that the expenditure for lactating cows is also difficult to calculate correctly.

The healthcare industry is well aware of the issue of limited resources. By properly managing available resources, waste may be minimized. Bangladesh is a developing nation with limited resources, hence it is essential to estimate technical efficiency in this circumstance. Health care efficiency in the developed world has long been examined using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). However, few studies have used DEA to evaluate the effectiveness of healthcare delivery in emerging economies, especially in Bangladesh. A total of 24 community clinics in Kushtia were chosen at random for this study, and their technical efficiency was determined using the DEA method. The goal was to assess health centers’ levels of efficiency and provide recommendations for improving less effective centers’ performance. Input-based Data Envelopment Analysis was utilized to evaluate technical efficiency. The first category comprised of twelve prominent public hospitals. In this study, the number of outpatient visits was both an input and an outcome variable, whereas physicians, nurses, drugs, and other medical supplies were input variables. The Malmquist index was also utilized to assess efficiency gains and losses over time in community clinics. The eleven surviving community health clinics ended just inside the border. Based on their average efficiency rating, the facilities could accomplish the same goals while consuming 42% less inputs. On average, each CC created garbage worth TK. 0.14 crore. Across the board, production grew during the study periods. Overall, the findings suggest that public health centres are extremely inefficient in their delivery of health care and that substantial savings may be achieved by implementing steps to reduce waste.

In order to provide suggestions forthe reform and transformation of coal mining firms, we construct regression models to analyze the impact of innovation capability. Using a sample of coal mining firms listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges in China from 2013 to 2018, and explaining the innovation capability from three perspectives of R&D intensity, innovation level, and innovation efficiency, this paper is the first to empirically examine the relationship between innovation capability and enterprise profitability, and further investigate the impact of environmental policy on the relationship. We find that the innovation of coal mining firms can effectively promote the improvement of profit growth, especially for the coal mining firms with stronger R&D intensity and higher innovation level. After considering the constraints of environmental policy on coal mining firms, we also find that the greater the intensity of environmental policy, the stronger the positive relationship between R&D intensity and profit growth, which is the effective evidence of applying the Porter’s hypothesis to the high-polluting coal mining firms in China. The conclusions facilitate the managers of coal mining firms to further understand the impact of innovation on profitability. At the same time, the study also provides empirical evidence for policy-makers to stimulate innovation of coal mining firms from the perspective of environmental policy.

The environmental considerations have gained increasing attention both from industry practices and academic research over the past three decades. Selection and cooperation with appropriate suppliers have become strategically important in the cosmetics' industry, too. There are various publications concerning green supplier selection and evaluation in general. However, a review on the supplier selection literature focusing on cosmetics industry shows a poor attention to "Green" criteria. Hence, the novelty of the paper is concentrating on this question: what are the most important criteria for "Green" evaluation and selection of the suppliers in the "Cosmetics" industry. Due to the inherent uncertainty in subjective opinions of the industry experts, the Fuzzy Extent Analysis and Delphi methods were applied. Finally, this study aims at identifying and prioritizing the supplier selection measurement indicators with environmental concerns under uncertain conditions in the Iranian Cosmetics Industry. The preferences of experts over the attributes were gathered using a pairwise comparison-based questionnaire. The hierarchical clustered representation of the four main attributes; Quality, Risk, on time delivery, environment; and their importance weights were achieved as the result of the study.

For several years, and especially during the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, digitalization has become one of the major challenges for all companies. In this regard, several research works have been carried out to understand the possible effects of digitalization on some areas of management, such as finance (Vasarhelyi et al. 2015, Pan and Seow 2016, etc.), work organization and jobs (Dorn, 2017, etc.), Human resources (Audrin et Davoine, 2017), etc. Unfortunately, this type of work is still absent in the field of management control (Quatrone 2016; Möller et al. 2020). In this context, this article, based on a survey carried out among forty-two Moroccan companies, aims to answer two main questions. First, how can we judge the degree of management control digitalization in the studied companies? Second, does the firm size impact this digitalization? The results obtained show that the management control digitalization is considered to be "moderate" in studied companies. It has also been shown that firm size does not have a statistically significant impact on this digitalization.

This study was designed to investigate the influence of internal marketing on the sales force performance of beverage manufacturing firms in Nigeria. The underpinnings of internal marketing were internal communication and internal training. The population of the study included the salespersons that were involved in the sales of beverage-manufactured drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, in Nigeria. A sample size of 152 was investigated. A structured questionnaire served as the primary instrument for data collection. The structured questionnaire was administered to every member of the population, and 144 copies of the instrument were filled out and returned in useable form. Data collected were analysed using percentage analysis, and hypotheses formulated were tested using simple linear regression analysis. Findings from the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between the internal marketing variables (i.e., internal communication and internal training) and sales force performance. Based on the empirical findings, the author concluded that internal marketing strategies influence the sales force performance of beverage manufacturing firms in Nigeria. The researchers recommended that management show more interest in communication and training to improve and enhance sales through the performance of the sales team.

Small and Medium Enterprises [SMEs] in Ghana are often denied capital by the financial institutions. Hence, this study utilized data from self-administered questionnaires to 123 SME operators in the Cape Coast Metropolis to ascertain if the financial institutions consider the legal form of business ownership of SME before lending capital. Descriptive statistics, Chi-square and Hierarchical regression were employed to analyse data. We failed to reject the null hypothesis which implied that the financial institutions do not put much emphasis on the legal form before lending capital to SMEs, neither does the legal form determine the amount of capital borrowed. The recommendations were that the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) must ensure that all the SMEs are registered and their business operations formalized. Besides, they should also train SME operators on basic business management skills, particularly, keeping accounting records. Government SME financing scheme managers must work professionally by administering the funds to SMEs based on merit and not on other irrelevant considerations such as political affiliation, cronyism or nepotism. Finally, SMEs must revamp their various trade associations to create a formidable union.

The purpose of this study is to highlight and call for more research into whether higher education institutions (HEIs) senior management teams are positioned as empowered leaders of change to coercively as well as persuasively implement an alternative online teaching and learning platform, disrupting existing institutions for the benefit of its major stakeholder, students amidst COVID-19. This study used a qualitative meta-analysis method to combine previous qualitative studies to develop deeper meaning through an interpretive process, signalling that more research in this area is required. We argue that the senior management teams in HEIs are influential actors and change agents and have the potential to significantly contribute to institutional work. In addition, we discovered that institutional entrepreneurship has limited research in the study of HEIs and depicts the opportunity to explore the concept of agency and institutional work in the context of HEIs. This study makes a good impression and emphasises the need for future research, particularly on senior management teams at HEIs, to reflect their institutional work in the formation of institutional changes witnessed in the HEIs' virtual classroom platform.

There is a greenwashing risk in voluntary carbon disclosure and there are no adequate regulations for stakeholder protection. So, there is a risk of providing information that can mislead stakeholders in making decisions. This research will analyze the determinants of carbon emission disclosure by considering the risk of greenwashing in Indonesian companies. This study also uses the ratification period of Presidential Regulation No.98 to analyze its contribution to the relationship between variables. It is necessary to study the role and ability of regulators to intervene in Indonesian companies. This study uses a random effect model to examine the influence between variables. The total data sample for this study is 876 (firm-years). This study also uses the Difference in Difference (DID) method to address the risk of endogeneity, and to evaluate the effect between research variables by adding the ratification period to Presidential Regulation No.98. Empirical results show that corporate governance has a positive effect on carbon emissions disclosure. Changes in carbon emissions has a positive effect on carbon emissions disclosure. The results show the period of ratification of Presidential Regulation No.98 can strengthen the relationship between corporate governance and carbon emissions disclosure, and can strengthen the relationship between changes in carbon emissions and carbon emissions disclosure when companies fail to mitigate carbon emissions.

Non-government hospitals have to deal with many corporate and individual clients. Therefore, the hospitals require employees of all levels. Recruitment and selection are the process of attracting and hiring the suitable candidates. Hospital authorities are always concerned with selecting the best candidate for vacant positions. Judgment sampling is used and opinions of human resource professionals are recorded. Non-parametric one sample Wilcoxon Signed Rank test is conducted on the data collected from the human resource departments. The study finds that lack of qualified and experienced candidates is a major challenge in employee recruitment. It is realized that misrepresentation of qualities and varying salary expectations of potential employees creates difficulties in selection process. It is also evident that there is deficiency of training for hiring process for the recruiters. The study is limited to kinds of instructions and cannot emphasize the policy of confidentiality of the organizations in some cases. More research about the challenges might help the different organizations regarding hiring process. The study has helped the non-government hospitals to identify major challenges in the recruitment process. It has highlighted the factors that need to be focused on hiring new employees.

The SARS COV2 pandemic hits the life and livelihoods of millions and consequently slows down the world economy. The pandemic hits hard the specific social groups due to travel restrictions/bans and other regulations that affect their income and consumption patterns. The goal of this paper is to find out whether the pandemic has any effect on consumption and income patterns among consumers in rural settings. To implement this study, structured questionnaires were sent to respondents and collect data from 180 samples living in rural areas of four different administrative districts in Bangladesh such as Rajshahi, Bogura, Naogaon, and Natore. Using paired sample T-test (parametric) and Wilcoxon signed ranked test (nonparametric) test found that pandemics had a significant effect on the pattern of consumption and income in the northern area of Bangladesh. While the Keynesian method of income determination shows that the MPC before the COVID-19 pandemic was 0.31 and during it was 0.37. This shows that consumers would like to consume at a higher level compared to them before the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, the study revealed that though the pandemic significantly affect consumers’ income to reduce, consumption levels inclines fuelled by the fear of panic buying during the pandemic. Government should have preparedness to provide essential goods during any natural disasters or pandemic-like events.
