The main goal of this study was to analyze the relationship between competitive intelligence (CI) and strategic decision-making and its six aspects such as quality, agility, flexibility, integration, effectiveness and efficiency in small and medium-sized food enterprises in Iran. This was an empirical study in which we searched to prove that competitive intelligence elevates the process of managing and making important decisions to a higher level. In this study, a conceptual model was developed to demonstrate the effect of CI on strategic decisions. The statistical population estimated at 90 senior managers from top small and medium-sized food enterprises in Iran, and based on the Cochran formula, the sample of this research included 73 managers of the SMEs in Iran food industry We used factor loading, path analysis, t-value, and Probability value (p-value) to analyze the data. The study's results indicated that CI could help with strategic decisions and significantly affect considered strategic decision's sides. Based on the t-value’s findings, CI had the most impact on the quality, flexibility, and effectiveness of the strategic decision-making, 15.139, 12.868, and 11.641, respectively. Therefore, CI acts as a support system to develop strategic decisions.

Efficient marketing will prosper the actors in each marketing agency, producers and consumers. Efficiency will be created if marketing costs can be minimized so that the percentage of producer prices to consumers is not too large, and there is no gap in the profit ratio to marketing costs between marketing agencies. The study aims to analyze marketing efficiency of tangerines and siamese in Gadingkulon Village. Data were collected from 87 citrus farmers who were selected by simple random sampling. Traders were determined by snowball sampling, consist of 17 collectors, 5 wholesalers, and 7 retailers were selected. Data were edited in the field, tabulated, compiled, then presented in tabular form, analyzed and described. The results showed that tangerines and siamese in Gadingkulon Village had an imperfect competitive market structure which was monopolistic. Marketing of the two types of oranges involves four channels i.e. collectors, retailers (inside and outside Malang Regency), and wholesalers. Oranges marketing system is not yet efficient, where wholesalers have larger profit margin ratio than other market players. Marketing channels I and II for tangerines are more efficient than channels III and IV. Meanwhile, marketing channel I for siamese is more efficient than channel II, III, and IV.

At present, business of people's dairy cows in Ngantang District is still carried out traditionally. Commonly, the feeds provided are concentrates, additives and forages (elephant grass, corn stalks, field grass). This study aims to analyze efficiency of concentrate, additive and forage feed in the production of dairy cows in Ngantang District, Malang Regency. Population in this study were all dairy farmers from three villages in Ngantang District: Pandansari, Jombok and Waturejo Villages. Sample was determined by simple random sampling method of 100 farmers. Data analysis method used is multiple linear regression models. The results showed, the factors that had a significant effect on cow's milk production were forage and concentrate feed. NPMxi/Pxi = 1,704 (NPMxi/Pxi > 1) indicates that forage feeding has not been efficient so that forage feeding can be increased. NPMxi/Pxi concentrate feed is 0.053 (NPMxi/Pxi < 1), indicating that concentrate feed is inefficient so the amount must be reduced.

Efficiency is one of economic concepts, which its enhancement has always been at the focus of politics and economy practitioners in order to improve standard of living, prosperity, peace, and human security; so that all economic schools and communities relatively emphasize this notion and suggest proper political advices to increase efficiency of various factors. Nowadays, regarding the qualitative and quantitative development of cities, the role of municipalities in urban management increasingly highlighted; thus, measuring the efficiency of municipalities is necessary for planning and better performance of municipalities. The present research tried to measure the performance of municipalities exceeding one hundred people through using DEA method and constant return to output-based scale (CCR-O) and variable return to output-based scale (BCC-O) in 2010; regarding municipalities’ relatively stable revenues, permanent revenues, semi-stable and totally unstable revenues as two inputs; and costs of urban and administrative services, as well as urban construction (including 1. Improved urban traffic; 2. Improved urban environment; and 3. Establishing entertainment and income-generating facilities) as five outputs. Obtained results indicate that 16 of 44 understudy municipalities i.e. 36.36% and 17 municipalities (38.64%) are efficient in CCR and BCC methods, respectively. The mean efficiency of the first method is 86.97% and 27.87% for the second method. Moreover, once municipalities totally ranked and an efficient virtual model introduced for inefficient municipalities, the main cause of inefficiency assigned to their extreme deviation from sufficient municipalities in costs of building cultural and sport places, which requires the highest attention at change average of 240%.
