Peer review has a vital role in measuring and validating the quality of manuscripts submitted to the academic journals and their adherence to the norms of the field. It also helps authors to develop their works by revealing the flaws and mistakes and recommending new directions and methods.
International Journal of Management, Accounting and Economics (IJMAE) welcomes to all scholars holding PhD or candidate of PhD in disciplines of management, accounting and economics to cooperate as reviewer or editor. The editorial positions are just available for those who hold PhD degrees. PhD candidates can only apply for membership in the board of reviewers. Volunteers can register as reviewer or editor via the journal’s website. The information provided by volunteers will be evaluated by Editor-in-Chief and, if confirmed, will be uploaded at the page relevant to Board of reviewers and Board of editors on the website and an email will be sent to the person acknowledging the confirmation or rejection. Confirmed reviewers and editors can also request for a “Letter of Appointment” for their reference via an email.
IJMAE follows the “Double-blind Peer-review Policy” which means that the reviewers of the manuscript will not get to know the identity of the author(s), and the author(s) will not get to know the identity of the reviewer. After submission of a manuscript by the author(s), the Editor-in-Chief checks the initial quality and sends it to at least two reviewers who have specialty in the subject. The reviewers will be informed by an “Invitation Letter to Review” to their emails. Then, they can login to their accounts in online peer review system, by the username and password provided, to observe the manuscript details and the due time to review and decide whether they accept or reject it. By accepting the manuscript to review, they can fill out the evaluation form and submit it to the Editor-in-Chief. According to the evaluations provided by the reviewers, Editor-in-Chief decides whether to accept, reject or revise the manuscript for publication. The final decision along with the reviewers’ reports will be emailed to the reviewers for their records.
Key Evaluation Criteria
All reviewers have to evaluate their assigned manuscripts based on the following criteria:
Relevance and Importance of the Topic;
Creativity of the Research;
Relevance of the Research Method(s);
Effectiveness of the Discussion;
Contribution to the Literature;
Organization and Relevance of the Structure and Logic.
Evaluating the manuscripts objectively, critically, friendly and fairly without any personal biases;
Respecting the confidentiality of the review process;
Checking for language proficiency of the manuscript;
Inspecting the completeness, consistency and promptness of the references;
Being adhered to the review deadline assigned by the Editor-in-Chief.
